If you’re reading along, thank-you. If I’m completely honest I started my Pilates journey too late, but better late than never. I live an active life and have always thought myself fit and strong, which was true for my big muscle groups, the chest, shoulders, back, arms and legs. This seemed to serve me well, until pregnancy. During my first pregnancy my pelvis separated so much I was forced to walk with the assistance of crutches.

So began my Pilates journey and I was introduced to the wondrous, life-changing and result- gaining machine, the Reformer. For the first time in my life I started exercising muscle groups that helped stabilise and strengthen my pelvis. Before then I paid very little attention to my transverse abdominis, pelvic floor, middle and lower back, hip flexors, adductors and glutes. For two years I practised Reformer Pilates twice a week and I’d never felt so strong.

My second pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience was a delight. I returned to running three months postpartum, instead of 18 months.
And so grew my love and respect for Pilates and my mission to provide more opportunities for others to grow the same fondness, Tayla x
